Is your chatbot actually helping or just hiding? #AICustomerService #Retail

A retailer bragged about hitting 40% ticket deflection with AI customer service. Sounded amazing. Turned out customers were just hanging up on the bot and calling right back to reach a human. The ticket deflection number looked incredible. The customers were furious.

Here's our take on AI customer service: the metric is not the outcome.

Ticket deflection only counts if the customer actually got helped, not if they rage-quit the chatbot. Way too many retail teams are celebrating AI customer service wins that are really just frustrated people giving up.
